instructions
- 1
choose three surfaces you touch or walk past daily — a wall, a piece of clothing, a tree, a pavement.
- 2
photograph each surface from as close as your camera can focus. fill the entire frame with texture.
- 3
annotate: use stamps to mark patterns you notice — repetitions, cracks, gradients, irregularities.
- 4
show your captures to someone without context. ask them to guess what the surfaces are.
- 5
reflect: how does scale change what you see? what looks different up close vs. from a distance?
