shadow shapes
find shadows cast by everyday objects. photograph them, then revisit the same spot at a different time to see how light transforms the same scene.
materials
- camera
- a sunny spot indoors or outdoors
instructions
- 1
find a place where sunlight creates interesting shadows — a window, a fence, a shelf of objects.
hint: look for overlapping shapes or surprising outlines
- 2
photograph the shadows. try to fill the frame with just the shadow shapes, not the objects casting them.
- 3
annotate your capture: stamp what the shadows remind you of. add a text label for shapes you recognise.
- 4
wait at least 2 hours, then return to the same spot. photograph the new shadows.
- 5
compare your two captures. what moved? what disappeared? what new shapes appeared?
