the big idea
the thing stays still. only the shadow is allowed to move. you are just the tracker.
how to play
find
gather materials and set the stage
go outside and pick something that isn't moving — a stick in the ground, a toy on the step, a shoe. grab a pencil or chalk too.
fold
the hands-on exploration
draw a line around the shadow right where it is. come back in one hour and draw the shadow again. it moved! where did it go?
unfold
reflect on what happened
look at both lines you drew. which way did the shadow move? why do you think that happened? what do you think would happen if you came back one more hour later?
find again — same build new constraint
try three different things at the same time. before you go back to check, guess which shadow will move the most.
